Join us for the March Climate @ Noon seminar to hear from presenters Dr. Matt Van Grinsven (NMU EEGS) and James DeDecker (Michigan State University Extension). They will be sharing the methodology and findings from their reduced-tillage agriculture research project conducted last summer at 2 local farms!

Join us for the February Climate @ Noon seminar! We will be hearing from a group of graduate students from the University of Michigan who recently conducted research about the socioeconomic impacts of ice decline in the Great Lakes. Learn how communities in our region have been affected, and how this research lays the foundation for future studies!

Please join us for the first monthly Climate @ Noon seminar of the new year! Isabelle Honkomp (NMU '25) will be sharing key takeaways from her Sustainable Business study abroad course last summer, during which she studied a French art exhibition depicting 100 images of climate change. Using this display as inspiration, she will outline 3 recommendations for integrated, interdisciplinary climate communication.

Middle and high school Science Olympiad teams from throughout the Upper Peninsula will create designs, solve problems, and learn the importance of teamwork by competing in different STEM-related events at the annual regional tournament. The top-placed teams will advance to the State tournament hosted by Michigan State University in late spring.

Join us for a day of music, remembrance, and community! Lunch will be followed by our NMU Alumni Keynote speaker, retired judge Charlita Anderson White. Guided by the Theme: "The Beloved Community: Where Justice, Healing, and Hope Meet" and featuring a menu of Fried Chicken, Shrimp and Grits, Mac and Cheese, Collards, Potato Salad, Cornbread, and Sweet Potato Pie. 

This event is free for all NMU students and $14 for community members, faculty, and staff. Tickets can be purchased at nmu.universitytickets.com.

A presentation by Forensic Biochemistry major, Paige Weber. She interned at the Michigan State Police Crime Lab here in Marquette this fall semester. Paige will give a presentation on what that experience entailed for her.

The Winter Semester Job Fair is an opportunity for companies and organizations to discuss full-time jobs, part-time jobs, summer employment, and internships with all majors.  There is no cost for students and alumni to attend this event.

The Virtual Biology Career Fair is an opportunity for companies and organizations to discuss Biology jobs, internships and careers with students. This also includes sustainable energy, government environmental/health, healthcare technicians, managing scientific data, natural resources, ecotourism, etc. There is no cost for employers, students and alumni to attend this event.

This concentrated recruiting event is geared specifically towards students choosing engineering technology, manufacturing and other related majors. This Fair will allow you to visit with students and alumni who are seriously considering the challenging careers related to these fields.
