NMU Giving Day: April 18, 2024

NMU Giving Day: April 18, 2024

Alumni

Inspired by Northern Michigan University's Charter in April 1899, NMU will launch a new Giving Day on April 18, 2024. A day to celebrate the collective power of giving back. A day to remember what binds us. And a great day to be a Wildcat.

For ONE day only, alumni and friends can give to the departments, teams and programs they love...and DOUBLE their support! On April 18, gifts will be matched dollar for dollar up to $100,000. PLUS, the three departments with the most donors will split an additional $25,000 to continue to provide unique opportunities for their students.

Show your Wildcat pride on April 18, 2024, by wearing Green and Gold and supporting the departments, teams and programs you love.

Her book is the 2023/24 selection for the NMU Diversity Common Reader Program.

The main conference sessions will run from 8:45am to 9:00pm on Thursday, March 21, and will include keynote speakers, workshops, panel discussions, and more. The content covers wide fields of study.

Casting Call

Portraits of Beth Rondeau-Deacon and Terence Gordon with film strip

Alumni

NMU Alumna Beth Rondeau-Deacon and Director/Producer Terence Gordon are holding a casting call for NMU students for Intent Unknown 2, along with another film in development about pioneering woman pilot Lynn Rippelmeyer, who was the first woman to fly a 747 and captain a 747 transatlantic flight. The subject aligns with Gordon's interest in aviation.

He attended college and general aviation flight school, and later served with the Civil Air Patrol-U.S. Air Force before venturing into entertainment. Gordon's credits include executive producer of the documentary What's in a Name: A Versace Story. He has also worked on numerous cross-genre projects such as music videos, commercials, and feature-length films. Read a feature story about Rondeau-Deacon, a mathematics teacher turned screenwriter, here

They will be looking to cast for actors (no experience necessary), set design, and other behind-the-scenes and camera positions.
