Athletic Accident Insurance Policy

Purpose:
To establish guidelines for the payment of medical expenses resulting from intercollegiate athletic injuries.

Applicability:
All Registered Intercollegiate Student Athletes, Student Managers, Student Trainers, and Student Coaches of NMU while participating in sponsored, scheduled and supervised intercollegiate games, practice, conditioning, and authorized team travel to and from events.

Prospective student athletes while on campus during an official visit for which the athlete was invited by NMU.

Policy:
It is the policy of Northern Michigan University to pay on behalf of athletes, or their parents, eligible medical expenses resulting from athletic related injuries subject to the University's Athletic Accident Claim Payment procedures.
