Indigenous Perspectives Symposium on Food 2025

Northern Michigan University (NMU) is proud to announce this year's Indigenous Perspectives Symposium on Food 2025, a one-day event dedicated to exploring the rich traditions, profound significance, and evolving future of Indigenous food systems. The symposium was held at NMU's Northern Center in Marquette, Michigan.

LED in Weston Hall

$3.3 million on electricity on campus, which contributes to approximately 9,455 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions. We purchase approximately 12,500 MW of electricity each year for campus lighting.

One easy way to reduce our emissions is to reduce our energy consumption. NMU has the goal to convert half of our lighting on campus to LED by 2030 and all of the lighting by 2040.

Reusable Containers in NLD

Help NMU go zero-waste by joining the Wildcat ReusePass reusable to-go program. This free borrow and return program for reusable containers is now available at Northern Lights Dining. The ReusePass helps support our sustainability efforts and reduces waste from our dining program by using reusable containers for to-go orders.

To enjoy meals to-go with reusable containers, all you need to do is sign up using the ReusePass, rent, enjoy your food, and return!
