October is Campus Sustainability Month!
Campus Sustainability Month is an international celebration of sustainability in higher education. The goal is to raise the visibility of campus sustainability and provide advocates with a platform to deepen engagement around sustainability. Throughout the month, SHINE encourages YOU to engage in becoming sustainability change agents.
Our featured event this month is the Campus Sustainability Summit and the first annual Harvest Festival on Friday, October 23.

6 - 7:30 p.m. | Mind over Miles 5K by Wellbeing - Wildcat Statue In honor of World Mental Health Day, the third annual Mind over Miles 5K run and walk will be held on campus to highlight our commitment to the Okanagan Charter by fostering a campus culture that prioritizes health, wellbeing, and belonging. This 5K aims to promote a continued sense of community and encourage open dialogue about mental health, including our collective ability to reduce the stigma around prioritizing mental health and asking for help. | |

| Friday, October 9 | 11 - 12 p.m. | Wellbeing Walk by Wellbeing - Meeting at the Wildcat Statue Join Wellbeing biweekly at the Wildcat Statue at 11am for a wellbeing walk! Routes will vary, and they plan to stick to mostly sidewalks. Footwear that is comfortable for 2-4 miles of walking is recommended, and feel free to bring a water bottle. Other departments or groups may join us some weeks, but there is no real agenda besides connecting with each other in the outdoors for about an hour. |
