GREEN FUND PROPOSALS DUE TOMORROW

What is the Green Fund? The Green Fund is a student-paid fee that funds sustainable student-lead initiatives on campus. Any student can submit a proposal to improve sustainability at NMU! Learn more about it here. If you have an idea that you want to submit to the Green Fund, fill out this application by November 18th. If you have questions about the Green Fund or about how to submit an application, contact EcoReps at ecoreps@nmu.edu.

NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE DAY 

Please take time on Friday, November 24th, to acknowledge and honor Native American Heritage day. Northern Michigan University is located in beautiful Marquette, Michigan, on the shores of Lake Superior upon the ancestral and current homelands of the Anishinaabeg.

 

BLACK FRIDAY REMINDER

Consider not shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to not participate in one of the largest days on consumerism in the United States! If you choose to shop, please consider sustainable products with sustainably sourced materials that will last you a very long time. Examples of companies who encourage their customers to not shop on Black Friday for the wellbeing of environment are REI and Patagonia. Check out REI’s #OptOutside campaign and Patagonia’s Let’s Find a Better Way campaign!
