The Superior on Tap event features Kim Ferraro, an environmental attorney and professor at Indiana University's School of Law, who will discuss federal wetland regulations and how recent Supreme Court decisions have shaped the way wetlands are protected in our nation. This event is co-hosted by Ore Dock Brewing Company and NMU's Department of Earth, Environmental, and Geographical Sciences. To learn more about this event, look at the Facebook event. Marquette County Conservation District - Pollinator Conference - October 17

MCCD was invited to participate in Michigan's 2024 Pollinate Conference this year. Pollinate is a networking event created to bring women and non-binary individuals together to connect and collaborate on conservation and agriculture-related topics and ideas. By cultivating working relationships, we can better serve our communities, our resources, and our food systems and wild spaces. This conference has grown to partner with conservation districts around Michigan to better serve people in different areas of the state and we are excited to bring this learning and networking opportunity to women and beyond in the U.P.!

This event will be a gathering for women and non-binary folks interested in conservation, agriculture and/or local food systems, that would like the opportunity to learn and "cross-pollinate" ideas with others. We have a great day planned with guided roundtable discussions, free lunch and refreshments, and field trips to Partridge Creek Farm and Partridge Creek Compost! Check out the schedule in the poster attached to this article. Register here
