Stuff Swap

What is Stuff Swap?

The Stuff Swap is part of a larger effort to reduce waste during Move-out. Head to our Move-in Move-out page for more resources! Whether you're looking to get rid of things before the move-out or find some new treasures to stock next year's dorm or apartment, Stuff Swap can help you!  Bring your gently used and working items to a participating location to donate!  You can also come down to browse the donated items and take what you will use for FREE!

What can I bring?

Items must be clean, working, and in usable condition. Household items, clothing, school supplies, room furnishings, decor, and much more can be accepted for donation. All items remaining after the swap will be donated to local charities and donation centers. Please note that we are unable to accept large furniture.

Can I bring food?

Yes!  Bring any excess canned or dry goods.  We'll take these donations to the NMU Food Pantry so they can go to other students who need them.  Even if they're expired, bring them our way and we'll see if they can be used or put them out for others to grab!

What else do I need to know?

If there's something you're unable to donate with us, sell, or give away to someone, please try to recycle it!  We'll be around to help answer questions about what can be recycled and how.
