Citizens for Superior is partnering with Recycle 906 to host a public drop-off bucket for vape devices at Kenny’s Corner Store in Marquette, MI.
There is a labelled drop-off bucket just inside the door at Kenny’s, so when you come in, you can discreetly drop off your used vapes. Please only insert used disposable nicotine vapes. From there, Kenny’s employees will empty the bucket regularly and store the vapes outside, in a weatherproof container, to mitigate any fire danger. The vapes are collected monthly by Citizens for Superior, clear tape is placed over the ends to minimise any fire risk, and then the vapes are taken to Recycle 906 for proper disposal through their household hazardous waste program.
Since the initiative began in December 2024, over 3,400 vapes have been collected, diverting them from our landfills and waterways.
