How the UPCI Changed My Career
Matt Landers, UPCI Instructor
I’m Matt Landers, a UPCI course instructor. Although I did not graduate from Northern Michigan University, I did attend in 2004/2005, majoring in network computing. I now own my own business, Attactics. Atttactics is a cybersecurity consulting company that focuses on offensive security.
Growing up, I didn’t have the outlet to practice and learn offensive security as people do now.
"The UPCI has opportunities for any skill level to advance their knowledge of cybersecurity and to grow in this field. By learning these topics hands-on you will come away with knowledge that will stay with you your entire career."
I am now an instructor at the UPCI - teaching the CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) and IOT Security classes. I also have a contract for the building of the IOT hacking capability of instruction through the UPCI. To be able to teach and work here gives me the opportunity to provide other students with something that I would have wanted when I was younger.
I believe the future of cybersecurity and safety is based on people finding that training people is more important than the new cybersecurity products that come out every week.
I would recommend that everyone take a course. The UPCI has opportunities for any skill level to advance their knowledge of cybersecurity and to grow in this field. By learning these topics hands on, you will come away with knowledge that will stay with you your entire career to utilize and build from. UPCI certification classes and special topics classes like the Auto Hacking or IOT hacking classes provide a wide range of skills that are in demand today. Your education at the UPCI keeps your skills current and on trend.
