Jason T. Morgan

Trustee

Jason T. Morgan serves as the 8th district commissioner on the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners and as an instructor at Washtenaw Community College.  Morgan is also a Flotilla Vice Commander in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and a member of the Huron River Watershed Council Board of Directors, the Washtenaw County Environmental Council, Parks and Recreation Commission, Homeland Security Task Force, Public Works Board, and the Criminal Justice Collaborative Council.  He is also a camp counselor and active volunteer with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Morgan has over 10 years of experience working in government, including serving as Special Advisor to Congresswoman Haley Stevens, Constituent Services Director to Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Transition Director to Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin, and District Director to Congresswoman Debbie Dingell.  He also previously worked as the Director of Government and Community Relations at Washtenaw Community College, and as an aide to both Congressman John Dingell and Congressman Bart Stupak, as well as Senate Minority Leader Michael Prusi.

Morgan holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Northern Michigan University, where he served as President of the Associated Students of Northern Michigan University (ASNMU) during his time as a student.  He also holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Michigan Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.

Morgan, of Ann Arbor, was appointed to the Board of Trustees by Governor Gretchen Whitmer on March 25, 2021  for a term beginning March 25, 2021 and continuing until December 31, 2028.  He succeeds Steven M. Mitchell whose term expired December 31, 2020.
