Description |
Enables employees and their families to continue health care coverage under an employers group health plan even after they experience an event that would otherwise end their coverage (e.g. layoff, termination, decrease in hours, divorce, etc.). The rules at 29 CFR 2590 set strict timing requirements for notification and subsequent coverage. Periodic comparison between the regulation and 1)notification content, 2) notification timing; and 3) benefits granted would be a best practice. |
