Description |
The University must provide 60 days advance notice of plant closings or mass layoffs to affected workers (whether hourly or salaried, including managers or supervisors) or their representatives (i.e. labor union). Notice also must be given to the state dislocated worker unit and the appropriate unit of local government. Failure to comply may result in liability to each aggrieved employee for back pay and benefits for the period of violation up to 60 days, and $500 for each day of violation for failing to notify the unit of local govt. |
