What does completing your degree from NMU Global Campus mean to you?
In a word, “everything”. For me, it’s finishing what I started in September of 1996, it’s showing my children living proof of the message that we’ve always given, “Ferrington’s don’t quit”. It's putting a degree on my office wall next to both of my wife’s. It’s for the friends and family that gave words of encouragement or affirmation. But above all of that, somewhere along the way, I had the realization that being a graduate may be one thing, but being an advocate for people who are considering going back to college is another thing entirely. I want to tell those people that if there are doubts, it’s normal, and so is being scared. But through the adversity is an accomplishment that nobody can ever take away. If I can encourage one person to start an education or even continue one that was cut short, I feel that this has all been worth it.
