If you pay your orientation fee(s) and then decide to withdraw from or delay attendance at NMU, notify the Admissions Office immediately. If you request a refund by the appropriate deadline, we will send you any refund for which you are eligible. All refunds must be summitted in writing to the orientation email at orient@nmu.edu. First-Year Student Session

Student Program Fee ($75 for Winter and Fall 2021 sessions)
Orientation will refund the amount paid for the Student Program fee less a $5 transaction fee until the Sunday before the originally registered date (see deadlines above). The program fee is non-refundable after the listed day. No refunds are granted for individuals who do not attend or fail to cancel their reservation.
Parent/Guest Program Fee (Free for Winter and Fall 2021 sessions)
Orientation will refund the amount paid for the Parent/Guest Program fee less a $5 transaction fee until the Sunday before the originally registered date (see deadlines above). The program fee is non-refundable after the listed day. No refunds are granted for individuals who do not attend or fail to cancel their reservation.
Orientation Accommodations Fee (Not offered for Winter and Fall 2021 sessions
The accommodations fee, which includes housing and meals during orientation, is fully refundable before the originally registered Orientation date. No refunds are granted for individuals who do not attend or fail to cancel their reservation.
Online Orientation ($75)
Individuals are not eligible for a refund if they have completed the Online Orientation and their Orientation Hold has been lifted. Only individuals who do not complete Online Orientation are eligible for a full refund less a $5 transaction fee. This eligibility is good up to 1 year after registering for the Online Orientation.
If you are signed up for an in-person session and switch to the Online Orientation you are eligible for a refund of the difference. The refunds for the Parent/Guest Fee and Accommodations Fee follow the refund policy listed above.
