New Student Application

Students interested in applying to participate in the Upward Bound Math-Science program at Northern Michigan University should read an overview of the application process by clicking the overview link below. Applicants are encouraged to pay special attention to the checklist included in the overview. It will help them ensure the application they submit is complete, as preference for admission into the program will be given to students who submit complete applications. Employment Application

The Upward Bound Math-Science program hires qualified Northern Michigan University students to serve as tutors-counselors to our high school participants. 

Tutor-counselors are needed for our summer residential program. Enthusiasm, willingness to help and patience are the most desirable characteristics. Click on the links below to read the job description and to access the application.

Admission Procedures

  1. Upon receipt of completed documents student applications are reviewed for admission.
  2. Admission reviews are conducted during the month of April.
  3. Eligible students not chosen for admission will be placed on a wait list.
  4. Admission, rejection, and wait list notifications are sent out on an on going basis until the end of May.
