Dr. Robin Bond

Assistant Professor

Bio:

Dr. Robin Bond received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Ph.D. in geochemistry from the Colorado School of Mines. Before coming to NMU, Dr. Bond was a visiting professor at St. John's University in Jamaica, NY, and a Member of the Faculty at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.

Dr. Bond's research focuses on the interplay between organisms and the chemistry of their environment and the development of methods necessary to quantify theses relationships. Past research projects include the measuring production of reactive oxygen species by microbes; linking the geochemical conditions of a Mars analogue to what microbes live there; and the use of mosses as bioindicators for airborne particulate metals.
