Bio:
Dr. Urvashi joins the department as an Assistant Professor in a three-year term position and will primarily teach introductory organic chemistry and biochemistry courses. She earned her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from the University of Delhi and recently completed postdoctoral research at Colorado State University Pueblo, where she also taught a variety of organic chemistry courses. Her postdoctoral work focused on the synthetic derivatization of cannabinoids to improve medicinal properties, as well as the development of sustainable extraction methods for cannabinoids from hemp. Dr. Urvashi enjoys volunteering in the community, engaging in artistic pursuits, cooking, hiking, mountaineering, and embracing new challenges.
