About the Team
The NMU Club Swim Team started in 2025. We are a co-ed team with the purpose of providing a place for people who want to keep swimming in a competitive atmosphere. At practice, we focus on improving our strokes, flip-turns, and breathing, while getting in at least 2,000–2,500 yards each session. We strive to have team bonding at least once a month, if not more, to help bring the team together. We’re part of the CCS league (College Club Swimming) and compete in 3–4 meets each semester, including two conferences, Regionals, and a dual meet against Michigan Tech.
Dues:
Dues are subject to change each year (more people = lower cost of dues). Currently, dues are $65 for the 2026–27 season, which covers pool time, league fees, and caps. The team suit is optional but strongly encouraged and costs $70 for women and $40–$50 for men, depending on whether they choose a Speedo or jammers. If you participate in meets, there will be additional fees, which are determined by the hosting team.
Requirements:
You must have a rec sport pass, be able to swim 50yd, own a swimsuit and goggles.
Volunteering/Fundraising:
We help out at sporting evets sweeping for basketball and volleyball, along with timing at swim meets. We also plan to rotate bake sales, can drives, and more in the future as the team grows.
