About the Team

The NMU Club Softball team has been established since the Fall semester of 2016 and continues to grow every year. The governing body is the National Club Softball Association (NCSA), and our team competes in District 4 of the Division II sector. Teams we play against include Michigan Tech, UW-Whitewater, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of Minnesota. This is a split-semester sport, meaning we play in both the fall and winter semesters. A majority of our games are played in the fall due to the weather at the end of the winter semester.

Dues: $350 per player. This includes travel, lodging, umpires, field time, annual NCSA team dues, and the use of a team uniform that is to be returned at the end of the season (includes two jerseys, pants, belts, and socks).

Tryouts: Typically held the first week that classes start and are split across two days (typically Tuesday & Wednesday). A glove and cleats are required for tryouts, but you're more than welcome to bring any other equipment you see fit.
2024: August 27 & 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Lions Park

Practices: We usually practice 2 times per week in the evening, but this could change depending on team member's schedules. If practices need to be missed for school or work purposes, you will NOT be penalized. We completely understand the importance of making it to class and being prepared for exams as well as making money to live while in school.

Field Location: Lion's Field on Cherry Street, Marquette Township
