Design and Production Application Requirements

Eligibility

The Wildcat Performing Arts Academy Production & Design Summer Intensive is open to students in grades 8 through 12 (for the 2024-2025 school year). 

Application Submission Guidelines

Students must submit samples of their production or design work, if a student has not been part of a production we ask that they submit something they have created. Specific guidelines are below. 

NOTE: Students with limited experience who are curious and passionate about theatre and design are still encouraged to apply!

  • Please provide an introduction video (60 seconds maximum). The video should include the following:
    • A close-up shot in which you state your full name, current city, state, and country. 
    • A brief introduction of yourself
    • Why you are interested in the Wildcat Performing Arts Academy: Production & Design Intensive
    • Why you are passionate about theatre/design/production
      • Highlight any design and production experience you have had.

Upload no more than five samples of your work using the following guidelines: 

  • Size:
    • Uploads can be multiple pages long
    • The maximum size for each upload is 10GB
  • Samples: 
  • Photos or videos of your completed work
  • Production or Design specific paperwork
  • Design presentations
  • Unrealized Designs (designs you have done that were never onstage)
  • Items that may be included in a Theatrical Portfolio

We understand that there is a wide variety of production examples throughout the technical theatre and production realm, and we are looking for samples that you are proud of.

NOTE: If you have not done specific production work but have been a creator of some kind you may upload samples of anything you have created (art, managerial paperwork, robotics work, costume creation, photography, podcasts, video production, etc.) 

Provide a letter from a teacher, coach, director, or mentor who can highlight the skills/qualities you have in any of the following topics: theatre, technical theatre, theatre production, leadership, or arts endeavors. 

Resume

Things to include on your resume: 

  • Production experience 
  • Classes you have taken in art, design, CAD, computer software, programming, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, or any other relevant training
  • Clubs and organizations you have participated in
     

Headshot

If you do not have a headshot please upload a recent professional photo of yourself. 

Deadlines

Early Submission: December 14, 2024

Early Submission Applications will be reviewed by January 15, 2025. 

Spring Application Deadline: April 18, 2025*

Admissions Notification: May 1, 2025

Applications will remain open until the program is full. Rolling application submissions will be reviewed on a bi-weekly basis.
