To purchase tickets, please visit the link below, stop by the NMU Ticket Office located in the Superior Dome, or call the NMU Ticket Office at (906) 227-1032.
If you have questions regarding productions in our NMU Theatre and Dance Season, please email us at nmutd@nmu.edu; however, any ticket-related questions and ticket processing is done through the NMU Ticket Office.

Season Ticket Prices
NMU Theatre & Dance FLEX PASS 2025-2026
12 vouchers to be used for any performance within the season and in any quantity.
Flex Passes must be present & redeemed at the NMU Ticket Office or any ticket outlet.

Ticket Policies
Seating
Forest Roberts Theatre
The Forest Roberts Theatre seats 508 people in an orchestra-level continental seating arrangement.

Seating in the Forest Roberts Theatre is assigned seating for every production. Seat numbers are located on the arm of the chair on the righthand side.
Wheelchair seating is available at the Forest Roberts Theatre marked in pink on the above seating map linked above. This seating is located on the left side of theater on the raised level along the back wall. To accommodate those in wheelchairs, we have spaces available in this section for you to enjoy the show right from your wheelchair! Cushioned folding chairs are provided for those accompanying the audience members in wheelchairs. Audience members are not permitted to sit or stand in the aisles under any circumstances while a performances is ongoing. In the event of a sellout, available wheelchair seating is released to the general public.
Panowski Black Box Theatre
The Panowski Black Box Theatre seats 95-100 people in a highly flexible, modular seating arrangement that can be reconfigured for each production. Performances in our Panowski Black Box Theatre are general admission seating.
Wheelchair seating is available at the Panowski Black Box Theatre on the ground level in front of the risers closest to the door. There is also a wheelchair ramp leading down to the theater entrance for those in need.
Late Seating
Late seating in both the Forest Roberts Theatre and the Panowski Black Box Theatre is limited. It is highly encouraged that you arrive to the show at least 10-15 minutes before curtain so the show can start as promptly as possible.
Sold-Out Shows & Rush Seating
If a sellout occurs for an NMU Theatre and Dance production, open seats will be resold and names for rush seating will be called beginning at 7:20 pm. Individuals may call or stop by the Box Office to be put on a waiting list for tickets beginning at 6:30 pm on the night of the sold out performance. You must be at the Box Office in person before the start of the performance to purchase and redeem rush seats.
Refunds & Exchanges
There are NO REFUNDS on ticket purchases. If a performance is canceled, arrangements will be made to refund all ticket holders.
- Patrons may exchange their tickets at $2 per ticket for reprinting costs. All ticket holders must exchange tickets at the Ticket Office located in the Superior Dome.
- Any other exchanges will be handled on a case-by-case basis with the approval of the Box Office Manager or Theatre and Dance Department Director of Production only.
Ticket Vouchers
Vouchers may be redeemed for tickets in person only at the NMU Ticket Office. Tickets will be issued to the pass holder/spouse on an as-available basis. We cannot guarantee accommodation of special requests. Vouchers may not be used for rush seating. We are not responsible for lost or stolen vouchers.
Season Ticket Flex Passes
If season ticket holders receive vouchers, or if vouchers are purchased online, those vouchers must be exchanged for an actual ticket to the performance of their choice. There is no cost for this exchange. Due to limited available seating, we STRONGLY encourage season ticket holders to exchange their tickets before December, and we encourage online voucher holders to exchange their vouchers as soon as possible.
Retiree Flex Passes
Retiree complimentary ticket holders are not guaranteed the same seats year to year. Retiree tickets are assigned beginning from the back of the house and working forward. Those with sight or hearing impairments should note that on the order/request form and we will try to accommodate them. However, we cannot guarantee particular seats.
Promotional Ticket Vouchers
Any ticket vouchers recieved through a promotional event such as our Santa Letters Campaign, Arts & Athletics Golf Outing, live auctions, raffle, or giveaway, are to presented to the NMU Ticket Office in exchange for tickets to designated show.
Show Content Concerns

Outside Event Policies
Late patrons will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager. Please plan to arrive and be seated in a timely manner, as the doors will be closed and each performance will begin at its scheduled time. Thank you!
Sold Out Shows and Rush Seating for Outside Events
If a sellout occurs, open seats will be left open. If there are tickets turned back to the Box Office or become available, a rush seating list will start 1 hour before the start of a show, when the Box Office opens. Names for rush seating will be called at 10 minutes before the start of the show. You must be at the Box Office in person before the start of the performance to purchase and redeem rush seats.
Ticket Donations
Are you an organziation or institution looking for a ticket donation from NMU Theatre and Dance?
Michigan non-profit charitable organizations, recognized institutional organizations and educational institutions may submit a ticket donation request form, in addition to an official letter from the organization, for one (1) event per year to be considered for a charitable donation by the NMU Department of Theatre and Dance.
Tickets donated are based on availability and at the discretion of NMU Theatre and Dance. Tickets donated are limited to regular-season events and fundraising events, excluding rental events. Submitting the form does not guarantee the request will be fulfilled. Forms not fully completed will not be considered. Phone requests will not be accepted.
