Late Seating

Late seating in both the Forest Roberts Theatre and the Panowski Black Box Theatre is limited. It is highly encouraged that you arrive to the show at least 10-15 minutes before curtain so the show can start as promptly as possible.

Sold Out Shows and Rush Seating

If a sellout occurs, open seats will be resold and names for rush seating will be called beginning at 7:20 pm. Individuals may call or stop by the Box Office to be put on a waiting list for tickets beginning at 6:30 pm on the night of the sold out performance. You must be at the Box Office in person before the start of the performance to purchase and redeem rush seats.

Outside Event Policies

Late patrons will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager. Please plan to arrive and be seated in a timely manner, as the doors will be closed and each performance will begin at its scheduled time. Thank you!

Sold Out Shows and Rush Seating for Outside Events

If a sellout occurs, open seats will be left open. If there are tickets turned back to the Box Office or become available, a rush seating list will start at 6:30 pm (12:00pm for matinees), when the Box Office opens. Names for rush seating will be called at 7:20 pm (12:50pm for matinees). You must be at the Box Office in person before the start of the performance to purchase and redeem rush seats.

Season Tickets

All season ticket orders must go through the main NMU Ticket Office located in the Superior Dome  (906-227-1032). We can answer questions regarding productions in our NMU Theatre and Dance Season, but all ticket processing is done through the NMU Ticket Office. Season ticket holders may renew the same seats each year.

Refunds and Exchanges

There are NO REFUNDS on ticket purchases. If a performance is canceled, arrangements will be made to refund all ticket holders.

  • Patrons may exchange their tickets at $2 per ticket for reprinting costs. All ticket holders must exchange tickets at the Ticket Office located in the Superior Dome.
  • Any other exchanges will be handled on a case-by-case basis with the approval of the Box Office Manager or Director of Theatre only.

Vouchers

If season ticket holders receive vouchers, or if vouchers are purchased online, those vouchers must be exchanged for an actual ticket to the performance of their choice. There is no cost for this exchange. Due to limited available seating, we STRONGLY encourage season ticket holders to exchange their tickets before December, and we encourage online voucher holders to exchange their vouchers as soon as possible.

Retiree Complimentary Tickets

Retiree complimentary ticket holders are not guaranteed the same seats year to year. Retiree tickets are assigned beginning from the back of the house and working forward. Those with sight or hearing impairments should note that on the order/request form and we will try to accommodate them. However, we cannot guarantee particular seats.

Wheelchair Seating

Wheelchair seating is available at the Forest Roberts Theatre. These seats are sold online as well as through the Box Office. In the event of a sellout, available wheelchair seating is released to the general public.
