Electrics Shop
After walking down the stairs on stage right and crossing under the stage through the green room, you'll be led up onto stage left, which is super convenient when you have to make an entrance from the opposite side of the stage! Above this side of the stage are two props decks where all of our stage properties are stored when not in use.
Our electrics shop, located offstage left, stores all of our lighting instruments and any lighting and sound equipment that is not currently in use in either the Forest Roberts Theatre or the James A. Panowski Black Box Theatre, which you'll see later on the tour. We still utilize gels in our lighting instruments, but are also slowly acquiring new instruments and upgrading our sound system. We have been using more and more LED and moving lights in our productions, and our technical students are so excited to get to learn new methods as the field advances! The electrics shop is managed and supervised by our Lighting Supervisor and our Sound and Media Supervisor and is the second space in our department that employs students.
