Summer College and the Admissions Office at Northern Michigan University is proud to offer our Summer Scholars Program. This merit-based scholarship is designed to encourage high school sophomores, juniors and seniors to get a taste of NMU by enrolling in summer courses.

To be eligible for this non-residential program, students must have completed their sophomore year of high school and have achieved a GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. While participating in this program, a student may enroll in up to 8 credit hours at NMU. Once a student enrolls, a 50 percent tuition credit (not to exceed more than the cost of 4 credit hours) will be designated on the account summary as a Summer Scholars Award.

To apply, students must complete the application for admission to NMU and the summer scholars-dual enrollment application. Students will be notified of the award two to three weeks after receipt of all application materials.
