Arts & Sciences at NMU

Every Northern Michigan University student will experience some courses offered by the College of Arts and Sciences because nearly all of the liberal studies courses are offered by departments that make up this college.

In addition, the college offers a wide variety of majors and minors. You may be a words person (English, journalism) or a numbers person (mathematics, computer science). You may like to be in front of an audience (theater) or behind a camera (electronic journalism).  You may like to study world leaders (political science) or what makes people tick (psychology).  Maybe you've got a scientific mind (biology, chemistry) or would like to find a career that lets you be outdoors (geography, environmental science).

Regardless of your personality or your career goals, majors and minors in the College of Arts and Sciences will challenge your critical thinking skills and imagination.
