The Flu shots for the 2021-2022 season are in, we have the quadrivalent Flu Vaccine and will plan our Flu clinics for this month, after those are completed, we can schedule nurse visits for having done in the clinic. For persons over the age of 65, the high dose is recommended, which we do not have at this time. Campus flu clinics will be held on Thursday, October 21st from 11a-1p at the lobby in Jamrich, Lobby 1318 - the Middle Jamrich Lobby) and Wednesday, October 27th from 11a-1p in Harden Hall, in the hallway by Fiera's/Micro Repair (consent sheets will be sent out soon).
Common symptoms of seasonal influenza are high fever, chills, cough, sore throat, headache, body ache, fatigue, runny nose, and occasional intestinal complaints. People who become ill will suffer mild to moderate symptoms for several days and recover fully in about a week. Most of those that become ill will not need to see a physician. However, if necessary, contact the Health Center at 906-227-2355, to make an appointment.
