Guidelines for a Successful Snapchat Takeover

Goal: To highlight what it’s like to be a Wildcat through first-hand experience.

Logistics:

Step 1:

  • Introduce yourself fully, either through 2-4 videos or text on images. Include; name, hometown, major, why you’re taking over Snapchat. If you’re an NMU alum, include; graduation year and job title(s).

Step 2:

  • Post no more than 6 photos or videos highlighting your day(s). Make sure it is a cohesive story, with an introduction, middle and an end.

Step 3:

  • Promote your Snapchat takeover on your own social media platforms by mentioning @northernmichu (Snapchat).
  • Save all stories to the camera roll - this will ensure we are able to repurpose your content.

Step 4:

  • You will be able to log-on to Snapchat the morning of your takeover, but will be kicked out the morning after your last takeover day. This is because University Marketing & Communications will take analytics from your takeover.
