William (Bill) Sickert attributes his career trajectory to his undergraduate experience at Northern Michigan University. In a class he attended, Professor James Camerius stated, “Thirst for excellence in the subject matter, not just a good grade.”

That NMU “thirst” led to the prestigious West Publishing Award, graduating Magna Cum Laude (JD) in law school, and the Sigma Delta Kappa Law Foundation for Moot Court performance. Bill authored the book “WATER” published by Active Interest Media and was featured in PROSPER Magazine and Success from Home Magazine. The Northern roots have led to over a billion dollars in consumer product sales, including Barleans Organic Oils, Garden of Life, Brevail, Penta Water/AquaPhotonics, Xowii, and additional projects.

Bill is deeply committed to his community, including four years of service with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. His dedication continues through his work as the community’s “Flag Man,” where he anonymously replaces worn or tattered American flags with exact, Made-in-the-USA replicas—quietly ensuring that the flag is always treated with the respect it deserves.

Marquette Mountain created an insatiable appetite for downhill skiing that continues for Bill and his wife, Angela, at Brian Head Resort in Utah. Motocross fills the void when the snow melts, with Angela providing pit support at regional racing events. Bill’s bottom line: NMU is a world-class organization looking to create and support world-class people.
