Northern Now - Digital Event Series

Thank you for joining us this year for Northern Now! The series returns this fall.

Northern Now is a monthly, digital event series for alumni and friends hosted by the Northern Michigan University Alumni Association. Taking place on the second Wednesday of each month, the series provides a behind-the-scenes look at NMU students, departments, athletics, and more on campus with exclusive tours, interviews, and interactive events.

Northern Now with Alumni Entrepreneurs on October 13

Northern Now: Alumni Entrepreneurs Panel with Invent@NMU

Join us on Wednesday, October 13 at 7 p.m. Eastern as we welcome a panel of alumni entrepreneurs to discuss the process of launching and running a successful business. Alumni Relations is teaming up with Invent@NMU to feature its clients and mentors in an array of industries, from a creative marketing agency to an online marketplace for medical professionals. Panelists include:

  • Joe Thiel ‘03, CEO at Innovate Marquette SmartZone and executive director of Invent@NMU
  • Ian Altobello ‘19, founder of The Boreal Collective, a creative marketing company that connects people to education, businesses to business, and talent to opportunity
  • Britta Carlson ‘12, CEO and founder of Med Pros Share, an online marketplace for therapists and other licensed medical professionals to sell their resources, as well as search and buy other medical professionals resources

Corinne Bodeman, NMU instructor of entrepreneurship and management for the College of Business, will moderate the event and share audience questions LIVE with the panelists. The event is free and registration is required.
