Northern Now: Black History Month Alumni Panel
Wednesday, February 22, 7 p.m. Eastern
Join us as we welcome a panel of alumni to celebrate Black History Month! All working in various professions, these alumni will provide insight into how their education at NMU prepared them for their careers, discuss any obstacles they have overcome and share ways they impact the communities in which they live.
The event will be moderated by MarLanaysia Rosser, NMU’s Black Student Union president, and panelists include:
- Victor Fairley ’12 BS, field training deputy and community outreach and recruitment coordinator at the Kent County Sheriff's Department
- Chris Warner ’09 BSW, juvenile probation officer in Kent County, Michigan and program coordinator of The Chosen Academy, which aims to bring affordable basketball skills training and mental health counseling to players in the Grand Rapids area
- Taylor Johnson ’14 BA, realtor associate at Keller Williams Realty, Inc.
- Brianna Sartin ’22 BS, content creator and account coordinator for Buzz Advertising Agency
MarLanaysia will share audience questions LIVE with the panelists. The event is free and registration is required. Once you register, you will receive the link to the live stream.

Join your fellow Wildcats for Northern Michigan University Day at Little Caesars Arena and secure your co-branded Wildcats and Red Wings hat!
Each ticket sold through this special package supports student scholarships at Northern Michigan University.
Choose your section (100 Level or 200 Level), complete the easy purchase process, share your personal link with family and friends, and invite them to join you! You will receive an email from Fevo one day before the game with instructions to access your tickets through the Detroit Red Wings Account Manager.
Please note: the hats are only available as part of the ticket package through the Detroit Red Wings. Fans that cannot attend the game are welcome to resell, gift, or donate the ticket portion of the package, and the Red Wings will ship the hat to you at no extra cost.
Tickets for this event are SOLD OUT. We will not have any additional hats for sale after the game.

NMU Alumni at Tigers Spring Training Game
Sunday, March 26 at 1:05 p.m. EST
Join your fellow Wildcats for the Tigers vs. Tampa Bay Rays spring training game taking place at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, FL.
To get your tickets:

- Type in Offer Code: nmualumni
- Once you are in, choose the game or the two types of parking. Clicking on the game opens up specific seats for you and if you want to choose the exact seat, click on “SEAT MAP”, otherwise it will just give you the best available ticket
- Prices start at $42, but when you click on the ticket it will give the option of $37 for a regular ticket or $42 for a BP ticket
- Once you add your tickets to your cart, you can add parking
