Kate Sartori (B.S., M.S) is a two-time NMU graduate who found her personal and professional foundation during her years in Marquette. She earned a B.S. in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management in 2009, followed by an M.S. in Psychology: Training, Development, and Performance Improvement in 2011. Most recently, she completed an M.S. in Business Leadership and a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management from Madonna University in 2023.
While at Northern, she served as a Resident Adviser in Déjà Vu House in Halverson Hall (2006-2009) and as the Resident Director of Payne Hall (2009-2013). In 2007, she founded the Women for Women student organization, uniting the five all-female houses on campus. Some of her proudest moments include leading the organization as the staff advisor fostering education, activism, and leadership among students.
Her time in NMU's residence life community led to a vibrant career in university administration, with roles at Indiana University, Southern Illinois University, Wayne State University, and Madonna University. She has since transitioned into human resources with an educational management company supporting charter schools across Michigan. She's an avid CrossFit coach and athlete, dog mom to two Springer Spaniels (Marty and Millie), and runs a seasonal tomato and treat stand at her local farmers market.
“NMU shaped how I show up in the world - as a leader, a teammate, and a community builder - but more than anything, it grounded me in the value of connection. I'm truly grateful for the chance to give back through the Alumni Board and to support the next generation of Wildcats in their own journey."
