Department of Biology Master's Degrees

The Biology Department supports three Master of Science programs:

  • M.S. in Biology (with thesis)
  • M.S. in Integrated Biosciences (with thesis)
  • M.S. in Postsecondary Biology Education (in conjunction with the School of Education, Leadership & Public Service)

M.S. in Biology

This academic program provides an opportunity for a diversified background in biology, applicable to a wide range of introductory positions of employment in business and industry, hospitals, universities, the military and government at the local, state and federal levels.

M.S. in Integrated Biosciences

The Master of Science program in Integrated Biosciences provides quality graduate education through student‐faculty collaboration in interdisciplinary natural science research and scholarly activity with links to biology. 

M.S. in Postsecondary Biology Education

This program combines a graduate-level science curriculum with pedagogical training so graduates will be well prepared to compete for full-time community college instructional positions immediately upon graduation.
