Research Interests:
I was a graduate researcher at the US Army Institute of Surgical Research, a postdoctoral analyst at the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Command and also completed a fellowship at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, Office of the Medical Examiner. As such, I have a range of research interests including: understanding taphonomic effects of cold climates on skeletal and soft tissue during freeze-thaw cycles; the effects of toxicological release to the soil and necrobiome during decomposition; aberrant bone formation as a result of biological responses to trauma in skeletal and soft tissue; exploring ways to provide opportunities for BIPOC, women, and other underrepresented scientists to contribute to the scientific community.
