Looking for a job while attending NMU?

You will have access to Handshake once you have attended Orientation and registered for classes.  Log into MyNMU and click on 'Handshake' under the 'Student Services' tab. 

  • Handshake helps you find a great job by enabling you to: 
    • Search and apply for job opportunities online 24/7
      • Part-time on-campus jobs (including Federal Work-Study positions)
      • Part-time off-campus jobs throughout the Marquette area
      • Full-time jobs
      • Internships
    • Manage resumes, cover letters, and other employment-related documents
    • Sign up for on-campus interviews
    • View upcoming events - job fairs, workshops, etc. 
    • Much more! 
  • To save some time when searching for jobs, you can save your search or set up to receive automated emails when a job fits your search. 
  • Prior to having access to Handshake, open on-campus jobs and other jobs in the U.P. can be viewed by visiting our Twitter: or follow us at @NMUCareerServic 

Need on-campus employment applications?

  • Job postings for on-campus jobs will indicate what documents are needed for application. Applications can be found in the Handshake Resources section and below:
  • Are you looking to work in a specific department, but don't see a job posted? Click here for a list of department contacts, and stop in with a copy of your resume.  
  • Most on-campus job applications can be personally dropped off, emailed, or mailed to the appropriate department.
