Dr. Tim Jansky earned his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2021. Prior to pursuing his doctorate, Tim taught high school English in his hometown of Pensacola, FL. While teaching, he earned a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction-Secondary Education from the University of West Florida. He also earned his bachelor’s in English from the University of West Florida in 2010.
Tim’s research interest in teacher induction, particularly in ways of supporting novice teachers’ learning and development through dialogue, stems from his alternative pathway to teacher licensure and the struggles he encountered when learning to teach. Tim’s most recent project adapted a discussion protocol to create a novice teacher support group at a high school in the Midwest. From this research, Tim presented at the International Conference of the Dialogical Self (2021), and forthcoming will be journal publications and other conference presentations.
