Campus Visit
A graduate student visit is an individualized event based on your graduate school interests.
It typically includes:
- a brief meeting and campus tour with a team member from the College of Graduate Studies,
- a meeting with the director of your program of interest,
- and potentially a meeting with a current grad student in that program (based on availability)
Each campus visit or program preview is different because it is tailored to your needs, but every campus visitor will have access to the following basic itinerary:
Contact | Appointment Type | Purpose |
---|---|---|
College of Graduate Studies | Graduate Admissions Q&A & Campus Tour | Application and admissions overview. Q&A with admissions staff for help with any of your application questions. Learn about sources of support for graduate students like professional development, community resources, and funding opportunities. Experience NMU's campus and ask any lingering questions. |
Faculty | Academic Program Meeting | Meet with program faculty about research or scholarly pursuits. Learn more about program curriculum, expectations, and outcomes. Tour lab facilities if applicable. |
**Campus visit requests must be received two weeks ahead of the intended visit time in order to accommodate planning for a meaningful visit with faculty in your field.
If you are interested in a tour of campus only, register with Campus Visit and select the walking tour.
If you want to explore campus on your own, download our Self-Guided Walking Campus Tour.
