DARWIN’S IMPACT ON SHELLEY’S FRANKENSTEIN DISCUSSED

            Northern Michigan University’s psychology department will host a presentation titled “A Strand of Vermicelli: Dr. Darwin’s Part in the Creation of Frankenstein’s Monster.” It is scheduled at 3:10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, in room 167 Gries Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

            The presentation will be given by Christopher Smith, an honorary visiting fellow in the department of vision sciences at Aston University in the United Kingdom. From his presentation, Smith will illustrate and discuss the influence of Erasmus Darwin on Mary Shelley’s gothic novel Frankenstein.

            The presentation is part of the NMU psychology department’s Colloquia Series.
