Northern Michigan University’s DeVos Art Museum will host a free family day at the museum, where children and parents can view the “Beyond Green: Toward a Sustainable Art ” exhibit. Family day is set from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 1.

Museum docents will lead tours of the exhibition for kids and adults. Attendees are encouraged to bring one to five recyclable objects from home to add to a community sculpture. Children will also have the opportunity to decorate the cover of a “Beyond Green” passport, which is full of fun activities about the exhibit.

“Beyond Green” is an international exhibit embedded in environmental concerns that combines an aesthetic sensibility with constructive critical approaches to the production, spread and display of art.

All children must be accompanied by a parent. No registration is required.
