NMU LEADERSHIP BANQUET TO BE STREAMED ON INTERNET
Monday 13, 2009
Northern Michigan University’s annual Leadership Recognition Banquet program will be streamed via the Internet for family and friends who wish to virtually participate. The Leadership Recognition Banquet takes place Wednesday, April 15. The link to view the program, which begins at approximately 6:45 p.m., is www.nmu.edu/leadershipbanquet. The program will be archived at the same Web address for those who wish to view it at a later date.
At the banquet, NMU announces seven student organization awards, such as group, House of the Year, Student Organization of the Year and Community Service Award, as well as the university’s outstanding male, female, non-traditional and all-class student awards.
“This is one of the largest annual NMU events, with more than 550 students, faculty and staff in attendance,” said Dave Bonsall, director of the Center for Student Enrichment. “It’s the night we celebrate our students’ spirit and the great things they do outside of the classroom. Because so many students are honored at this event, it always seemed a shame that the parents and other family members weren’t able to participate. Now they can via the Internet.”
