DEVOS MUSEUM HOSTS JULY 3 EVENTS

            Two events will close out the North of the 45th exhibit at the DeVos Art Museum on Friday, July 3. The juried show features 68 artists from Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota who live north of the 45th parallel.

Juror MaryAnn Wilkinson will give a presentation on the Detroit art scene since the 1970s at 5 p.m. in room 165 adjacent to the museum. Wilkinson served more than 20 years as curator of modern and contemporary art at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

The exhibit’s closing reception will follow from 6-8 p.m. It will feature food, beverages and live acoustic music by Troy Graham of Marquette Gratiot Lake Road of Houghton. There will also be a Yooper photo booth with props and costumes courtesy of Da Yoopers Tourist Trap. Attendees can dress up and have photos taken, with prints available for $5 each. Proceeds will support the Friends of the DeVos Art Museum.
