Northern Michigan University’s Student Nurses’ Association is sponsoring a “Run for Shelter” event on Saturday, Oct. 3. Proceeds from the 5K run/walk will support the Room at the Inn, which provides shelter, meals and camaraderie for homeless people in the Marquette area. The service is funded entirely on donations.

Registration is from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the West Science Building parking lot (number 36) off Elizabeth Harden Drive. The race begins at 10. First, second and third place winners will receive medals and ribbons.

            Registration is $20. Forms are available at NMU’s Physical Education Instructional Facility, the NMU Volunteer Center in the University Center and the Marquette YMCA.
