GREAT LAKES GIRLS COLLABORATIVE PROJECT CONFERENCE OCT. 3

            The Great Lakes Girls Collaborative Project Upper Peninsula Kick-off Conference will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Northern Michigan University’s Seaborg Center. 

            This conference offers the chance for schools and organizations committed to informing and motivating girls to pursue classes and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM areas) to come together to share the best practices, develop new collaborations and share resources. It is geared toward g,irl-serving community-based organizations, professional educators, program managers, guidance counselors, business leaders and professional organizations serving members in STEM careers.

            This project is funded by the National Science Foundation and administered by the Programs for Educational Opportunity, University of Michigan, in collaboration with the Seaborg Center. Mini grants are available to organizations that collaborate in the development and delivery of  programming that shares this vision.
