CHINA'S BEAUTY AND MELODY TO PERFORM AT NMU

MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Chinese ensemble Beauty and Melody will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Northern Michigan University’s Forest Roberts Theatre. The all-female ensemble is composed of young women accomplished in music and dance. The instruments used during their performance include the bamboo flute and wind pipe, along with stringed instruments like the ruan and pipa. Their musical is a journey through time, beginning with ancient dynasties all the way to today’s culture, exploring the rich heritage of China and its people. Advance tickets are $5 for students, $13 for faculty/staff/seniors over 60, and $18 for the general public. Tickets at the door are an additional $2.
