MARQUETTE, Mich.—Northern Michigan University students interested in competing in the third annual New Business Venture Competition must register by Friday, Nov. 13.

            The competition is designed to encourage entrepreneurial activism amongst NMU students of any major. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top finishers as follows: $4,000 for first place; $2,500 for second; $1,500 for third; and $500 for both best “elevator pitch” and best trade fair presentation.

Individuals or teams of up to five members may participate. An electronic “Intent to Compete” form, including a business proposal, is due by 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13. The submissions will be screened by a faculty/staff committee and finalists will be selected to continue on to the second part of the competition.
