COMEDY PRESENTATION AT NMU

            MARQUETTE, Mich.— Christian Lander, best-selling author of Stuff White People Like, and Elon James White, writer and host of the satirical Web series This Week in Blackness, will make a joint comedy appearance at Northern Michigan University. The presentation is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center.       

Lander has been featured on The Early Show, Later with Carson Daily and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. His book, Stuff White People Like, is a humorous anthropological study of upper-middle-class white culture and a handbook to succeeding in modern, urban, white society. Lander was born and raised in Toronto and has worked in the past as a freelance journalist and a sports reporter.

            White is a Brooklyn-based comedian. His Web series, This Week in Blackness, is a humorous look at race, politics and pop culture. He has been a guest on VH1’s Black to the Future and The Great Debate. His commentary on race and politics has also appeared in The Huffington Post, Alternet and The Root. White has been featured on ComedyCentral.com and Sirius Satellite Radio.He is currently developing his one man show,  A Terrible Setback.

            This event is free for NMU students with ID and $2 for the general public.
