CELEBRITY CHEF COMING TO NMU

MARQUETTE, Mich.—Celebrity chef Jamika Pessoa will give a free presentation at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at Northern Michigan University. The talk will be held in the University Center’s Charcoal Room.
Pessoa is a chef to the stars, entrepreneur and nutritionist. A graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta and Xavier University, she was recently a finalist on the Food Network’s “The Next Food Network Star.” Pessoa specializes in international cuisine. She draws inspiration from her southern and Caribbean backgrounds. She has studied under numerous European chefs and has worked at five-star hotels such as the Ritz Carlton-Buckhead.
