CLASS ON CCC CAMPS OFFERED

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is offering a class on the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camps at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, in the Superior Dome’s room C108. 

            Author Larry Chabot will talk about the CCC, which hired young men off welfare to improve America’s forests and lakes during the Great Depression. This presentation will highlight the U.P.’s role.      

            The cost is $4 for NCLL members and $7 for non-members. Register by the Oct. 3 deadline by calling Paula McCormick at 228-5489.
