ELECTRICAL LINE TECHNICIAN OPEN HOUSE OCT. 7

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—An open house for the electrical line technician program offered jointly by the Midwest Skills Development Center (MSDC) and Northern Michigan University is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 7. It will be held from 1-3 p.m. at the MSDC, located at 411 Avenue A in Gwinn.

            Attendees will be able to tour the facility, talk with current and past students, meet instructors and industry partners, watch pole climbing demonstrations and receive enrollment information.

The electrical line technician program is in its eighth year. It was the first program established by the MSDC, which is designed to meet current and future workforce needs in the Upper Peninsula. Students are trained to install, maintain and operate electrical systems to supply electric energy to residential, commercial and industrial partners, as well as joint gas and electric underground generation facilities. Graduates receive a diploma from NMU.
