NMU FRENCH PROGRAM OPENS CHILDREN'S MUSEUM EXHIBIT

Tuesday 23, 2010
MARQUETTE, Mich.— Northern Michigan University’s French program will open an interactive exhibit of French language and culture on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum.

Students enrolled in “Elementary French I” will introduce children and their parents to elements of the French language and the Francophone regions of Cameroon, France, Martinique and Tahiti.

“Each section of the class will present a different country and will have a variety of games, posters and activity books about the culture of each different region,” said NMU professor Tara Foster, who coordinated the exhibit. “The projects will give museum-goers a chance to have some fun while picking up a few French expressions and learning more about some countries that they may not know much about.”
