'LIGHTING UP THE HOLIDAYS' AT NMU

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—Northern Michigan University will hold its annual “Lighting Up the Holidays” celebration from 4:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the University Center. The event is free and open to the public.

            Activities include horse-drawn hayrides, free pictures with Santa Claus and children’s books, a 6 p.m. welcome from President Les Wong and ASNMU Vice President Courtney Russell, a reception in the Peter White Lounge featuring caroling, dance performances, cookies and refreshments, and extended NMU Bookstore hours for shopping.

Attendees are asked to bring canned food items for the TV6 Can-A-Thon. There will also be a chance to view and submit silent auction bids on gingerbread houses created by NMU athletes and community children to support Marquette County Habitat for Humanity.
