MARQUETTE, Mich.—Funeral services for James Rapport, whose career at Northern Michigan University spanned nearly 40 years, will be held on Friday, Sept. 2, at Forest Roberts Theatre. Visitation is scheduled at noon, with the memorial service to follow at 1 p.m.

Rapport joined what was then Northern Michigan College in 1958. In addition to teaching, he served several years as director of theater and 27 years as department head. He retired in 1998 and was awarded the distinction of professor emeritus.
