NMU MUSIC DEPARTMENT KICKS OFF PERFORMANCE SEASON

MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Michigan University Music Department will kick off its 2011-12 performance season with two upcoming concerts, one for vocal enthusiasts and another for those who love jazz.
The NMU Choir, Madrigal Singers and Lake Effect Show Choir join forces to put on a fall singing extraganza at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 16 in the Reynolds Recital Hall. The NMU Choir and Madrigal Singers are directed by Floyd Slotterback and the show choir by Sharon Green.
The NMU Jazz Band, under the direction of Mark Flaherty, performs at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Reynolds Recital Hall.
Both concerts are free of an admission charge.
